Music & sound design for Virgin Experience Days’ latest TVC.
Directed by Charles Copsey and produced by Bravespark, this quirky film about the variety of experiences on offer with Virgin was great fun to craft.
The primary music reference was a Mark Ronson track so Synths, disco-inspired live drums & lots of subtle FX were the recipe for the soundtrack. The music was composed to picture so hitting key marks in the edit was important and it took some time to establish the track’s tempo.
The ad is full of SFX, moving from one scene to the next and creating a new environment and context to each new experience. Striking a balance between sound design, music & dialogue was key in creating the energy required, but also not losing a sense of story in the commercial.
