This was a really interesting project to create the soundscape for. Directed by Right To Roam and created by Earthrise, the film gives an insight into the importance of new thinking in relation to the textile industry and climate change.
Created in a studio space, the sets created squares of crop fields from across the globe to transport the viewer to the environments in which the textiles are first grown. The sound design adds to the illusion of transporting the viewer to different countries, featuring sounds of insects and birds native to the regions and giving an exaggerated sense of the wildlife coming into the studio itself.
The music is calm, but reactive to the visuals. Using South American & African drums to emphasise edits in amongst ethereal synth pads. This then transforms into an uplifting and emotive track to create an energy to the film as solutions to issues are revealed and optimistic prospect of Textile Exchange becomes clear.
