SOUND DESIGN
The guys at Three Shades Creative were creating the music video for Josh Barry’s ‘Rush’ and wanted to finish things off with some sound design for the first 30 seconds before the music kicks in.
It was important to create the illusion that you weren’t listening to ‘sound design’ and so we took on the mission of piecing together an authentic sounding soundscape to the visuals. No audio was recorded on set so we had lots of fun in the studio recreating all the actions – subtle clicks and leather creaks, footsteps on top of dusty floorboards and smooth whooshes of a record coming out its sleeve.
We’re really pleased with the end result and the illusion it creates in surprising viewers when they’re told the sound was created entirely in post.
